Toy Soldiers Of San Diego's "Number Five"
Passing a canister cartridge, this is a "neat" figure. The number 5 man took a cartridge from the limber and transferred it to the number 2 crewman who placed the cartridge in the muzzle of the cannon. TSSD doesn't make the number 2 figure but one could easily be converted.
Converting him to earlier wars isn't hard. The Mexican War, Texas War of Independence, even the War of 1812, with some sculpting of cuffs and coat tails.
In a setup the number 5 man takes over for a wounded crewman in the number 2 position....It could happen.
