BMC/Americana Civil War Tents

I took a number of the shelter tents included with the BMC/Americana bag set of Andersonville accessories.

The white plastic tent is a sturdy little accessory and is almost there representing the two piece shelter tents carried by Civil War soldiers.
Most the balance of the set can be given to the neighbor's kids.

I mounted mine in groups of four on hobby plywood with scenic groundwork.

You can see that the separate groups of tents can be set up separately or in company streets.

Round tooth picks make quicky tent pegs.

Plastic rod makes the tent poles.

I'll have to get some more to make several streets of tents.

ARMIES IN PLASTIC War of Indepence

I recently took advantage of a sale at AIP to get their cavalry for the War of Independence. Not their best sets as they have bi-corn hats instead of helmets. Heads from All The Kings Men fix that issue.

Also the pegs on the figures don't line up well with the holes on the horses backs. A brass peg fixes that.

Now they stay on the horses when you drill a smaller hole that also lines up with the separate saddle.

I ordered several more sets to make some fighting British and Continental Light Dragoons.
