54mm Austrians 1866 Converted Home Cast and Damaged Britains Ltd.

  

Conversions done with "Green Stuff" and replacement heads for Britains Ltd Fort Henry Guard.  The Austrians wore great coats during the  7 Weeks War campaign in the June-August 1866. I have read that great coats were to worn over the soldier's shirts. Their white tunics were preserved back at their base.  

Converted charge bayonet pose to an Infantry Officer in greatcoat.

Austrian colors were printed out using Microsoft Paint.

LOD Enterprises "Judgement of Paris" 90mm figures.

 Nice figures depicting the mythical judgement by Prince Paris of Troy of the three Greek Goddesses Athena, Hera, and Aphrodite. They need a bit of finishing with files and X-acto knife plus filler for some void and bubbles. Many paintings of the Judgement of Paris have the goddesses in the nude. They had just bathed in the spring on Mount Ida. 

This figure set is "work and classroom safe" but still shows the beauty of the Goddesses in costumes based on mythology . Athena does have a sword instead of her usual spear and shield.

I painted them in acrylics based on a number of paintings. Since the subject matter is Mythology you can interpret the look as you please. 

Paris has the golden "Apple of Discord" inscribed "To the Fairest"

He is to award the apple to who he judges to be the fairest of three powerful goddesses. 

Athena offers Paris wisdom and skill in war as a bride.

Hera offered Paris kingship of Europe and Asia

Aphrodite offer the most beautiful women in the world, Helen of Sparta.

A hard decision for Paris. 

Paris chose the bribe of Helen, awarding the Apple to Aphrodite. 

Athena and Hera were no pleased and supported the Greeks in the future Trojan War.
