Seen at The Eisenhower Farm in Gettysburg

My wife was once a National Park Service seasonal park ranger and worked at the Eisenhower Farm in Gettysburg. Rangers at the Eisenhower Farm used to joke about about "interpreting" Mamie Eisenhower's knic knac cabinet. If you go to the Eisenhower Farm and I suggest you should, you'll see these breakfast cereal prize figures of President and Mrs. Eisenhower in ceremonial dress in the cabinet. The Hobby Bunker has reproductions of these figures along with the Lincolns and the Washingtons. The Bunker also has one other sad lonely presidential figure.

Loosely based on a story my wife told me about the Eisenhower/Nixon relationship.

If Stan Lee wrote War and Peace...

In several incidents in Tolstoy's War and Peace, Pierre, the thoughtful intellectual proved that you shouldn't make him mad.

Had enough Bersaglieri ?

Here's a 1905 film showing the Bersaglieri taking the Porto Pia. You may note that the troops might be running through the breech in the wall and around behind the camera to run past it into the wall again.

A Bersaglieri Hat?

Why is "Pope Palpatine" being given a Bersaglieri Hat? Why is he even accepting It? Well it's September 10, 2010, the anniversary of the Breccia Porta Pia when Italian troops entered Rome in 1870 ending the temporal power of the papacy. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capture_of_Rome#Capture

The "kicker" is that the Piedmontese Bersaglieri troops stormed the city and took Rome after a brief fight with Papal troops.

Nice Diorama version here......

So...if any Italian folks out there or folks that know politics can tell me it Ratz's hat was a make-up gesture, OR if he was being a good sport, please let me know.

Chickamauga Joke!

Inspired by a joke told to me by my friend Mark.
