A few new figures...

This was a LEMAX base player that I fixed with a better AIP head and a bow making it a period bass violin.

Some little kids from the earlier LEMAX Santa set.

I added dry grass to the saw horse base from an earlier post..

Emperor Maximian of Mexico and an Imperial officer. Not super authentic but based on Max's field uniform. Maybe in the cast of a future story if I get out of my slump.

Civil War LEMAX wood detail

I just started a new job that is a five day week. My old Friday off is gone and family "demands" now have to done on Saturday.  I am behind on weekly posts. Thank you all for the kind comments on the Napoleon III figures.

I picked up this second set of LEMAX Christmas figures to make them Union Army soldiers on a wood detail. The set included an out of scale ax. The problem is that the wood looks cut with a saw so I scratch built a two man saw. MARX playsets made a log on a saw horse so I painted one.
The base I made is too thick now that I see it enlarged and looks like a burger or cow flop. Maybe some dry grass will fix it.

Finally finished Napoleon III

I have been adding Mokarex Napoleon III era figures that I have found on eBay and Delcampe. Unless I trip over more of them I'm done for now.  Several figures are repairs or conversions sush as the color bearer.

LEMAX Civil War Santa Claus

This figure is a repaint of a stock LEMAX  Santa Claus  figure. I used a couple of "sources". Thomas Nast's illustration and W.Britains new Civil War figure that may be based on Nast.

Here is my version...

Sergeant Miniatures

I did get some figures in a swap with Mr. Sanzio Guerrini of Italy

http://www.sergeantminiatures.com/dovesiamo.php

His figures have a caricature look and are fun to paint.

He sent me a casting a while back of an Italian Cantiniere.
