Painted Semi-Flats Seven Years War

I have painted literally 1000s of these over 30 years to sell in gift shops. I still have these Seven Years War semi flats that I won an award for back in 1986. The original molds were Prince August hobby molds but I had some spin cast molds made that saved a lot of time and money.

I never got around to painting the French for my collection, just this one Cavalry unit.

  1. They're lovely, I've always a soft spot for flats.

At the risk of upsetting francophiles everywhere - You don't need to paint many French, they're never there when you need them!

  2. A broad generalization but, the other thing is that the usual French cavalry uniform color was red. Their Infantry was gray. Their Artillery was blue. Either boring or colorless.

  3. We also wargame using Prince August semi flats. The games have a special feel about them when these figures are on the table and I think they reflect the formality of the SYW well. Nice blog, it is the first time I have visited, but it wont be the last.

  4. Thank you Dave. I hope you do come back. If you have a look at my past posts, it's not all miniatures.
