More Replicant US Marines
I just finished the remaining figures from the Replicant series of US Marines from the American Civil War. These are the advancing figures plus the officer added to the firing figures.
The advancing man below is a good pose and wears the President Lincoln chin beard.
The figure below is a bit rough and scrunched over. He wears the Judson Kilpatrick whiskers.
Genl' Judson Kilpatrick ....
The officer is pretty good and has the correct US Marine braid epaulettes....
21 figures good for a small raid on the Confederate coastline.

Replicant US Marines.
I posted photos of these figures back when I got them as unpainted castings. http://ilikethethingsilike.blogspot.com/2011/05/replicantss-us-marines.html
Here are the first of the same castings that I painted. There is something about Replicant figures that seem crude even if the poses are quite graceful. Maybe it's the plastic texture and the flash at the mold parting line plus the original sculpting looks whittled in some details. Also my painting is becoming more Impressionistic as I pick out the details with splotches of paint.
More soon......

Capt. Charles Tarr's Company 1814
I bought this set of War of 1812 militia from All The Kings Men and painted them to what I think local militia looked like in my home town of Rockport, Mass. Capt. Tarr's, Elwell's and Haskell's Companies have all be labeled "The Sandy Bay Sea Fencibles" in various sources but this may have been just Elwell's Company. Haskell's company was a "detached" company that manned the forts on Cape Ann, an island/cape that included an number of parishes including what later became Rockport.
All The Kings Men have metal castings sold in bags of 12 to 14, 54 mm figures made for war gaming. They come with separate heads and 3 basic enlisted man bodies plus an officer and musician.
Capt. Charles Tarr himself.....
The man in the great coat below was painted to look like a seaman in a tarred watch coat while other men have farmer smocks or civilian work clothes.
All The Kings Men are a little crude in some cases but make study war gaming figures or toy like figures. At $ 40.00 USD for a bag.....not bad.

Expeditionary Force Zouaves
There are some flaws in that the trousers are too tight for some Zouave units and the sash too small. But they paint up well and I painted them as the 5th New York Zouaves. I wish that the castings included knapsacks. One body pose can make four poses with the four different arms that are included in the box. I used three. I had to get three boxes to make the sixteen figure "units" I like to make as each box only has six of each head for nine figures. Officer and color bearers to follow.
