Neat old French cartoon

This is from an 1886 issue of La Caricature. I think it translates as "Force of habit."

It didn't say who the subject was. Perhaps a retiring general from 1886 current events that "everyone" knew. (Caran D'Ache was the artist.)

I like the 1830s-1840s uniforms and the sentiment.
