Repaired French Imperial Guard
Another set of damaged figures repaired and restored. I got these men at a show for $10.00 because of the damage.
I replaced damaged Chassepots with pewter percussion cap rifle I already have and back dated the figures to the 1860s.
Mounted for painting and coated with artists Gesso.
I consulted about a dozen artist conceptions and photos of The Imperial Guard from the late 1850s to 1870 and came up with a color scheme that closely matched the casting. The coats are a bit short for the Guard. The officer figure is a mystery because his coat is short and he's out of step with the enlisted men
