Rail Road Cars

Bachmann G-Scale Box Car. In 1860s terms a "House Car" It's fairly close in detail to the peak roof versions.

Rounded roof "Tyson Car."

Compare to the upper G scale model to the lower O Scale model.

Yes it's NOT a perfect scale model for 54mm scale. The wheel trucks and couples are way off as well.

Playing with these G scale models is the closest to "Out of the Box" 54mm collects can get for Rail Road accessories. Some conversions could be done on the couplers to get the cars closer to correct but I hate to spoil a $44.00 model.

Here's how 2 of these cars look with Replicant/Marksmen 54mm figures.

Then my daughter came in to look.....

Hinterland "Southern Hemisphere" Hussars

I finished the set of " Southern Hemisphere" lady hussars (dismounted). I'm still trying to decide if I was being passively racist and sexist painting them as dusky cuties in bright colors. The small guidon identifies them as the "Golden Pineapples" with a brass image of the fruit on their busbies. The worst enemy these troops have encountered are Velociraptors.

Civil War Body Search

A humiliating but sometimes necessary police and security tactic, the body search was the subject of several US Civil War stories and cartoons.

This one from Frank Leslie's Illustrated.

"Miss Buckner" was smuggling medicine to the Confederates.

Here is a version of a woman smuggling a man.

Here is my tale based on the more humorous Civil War era stories.

Note the new Bachmann G-Scale "House Car"in the top panels. It's about the closest to 54mm I've found to CW era rolling stock right out of the box. Couplers and trucks are NOT correct.
