Green is a restful pleasing color.

Toy soldier collectors and gamers please bear with me. I'm work on something.

Until then, don't rule out green as a color. 1890 to around 1940.

The Sixth Commandment

Rachel and I were watching the old film Ten Commandments on DVD a couple of years ago. There's a scene where Moses (Charleton Heston) has killed the overseer Baka (Vincent Price) and Pharaoh (Yul Brenner) shows up to investigate. The scene looks like a TV show plot. We laughed. Rachel, or was it me said "CSI Cairo!"

EXODUS 2:11-12
"11 Now it came to pass in those days, when Moses was grown, that he went out to his brethren and looked at their burdens. And he saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his brethren.
12 So he looked this way and that way, and when he saw no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand."

There's some different figures here. MARX Moses, some MARX Romans and Robin Hood figures as Hebrews and two big Egyptians by JESCAN.

Bright Reds and Pinks

Miniature painters and reenactors.... Don't rule out these colors in portraying the 1890s to the 1930s. Now you have "documentation." There are several examples of the chemise and derriere showing through the back of the open drawers style.
